Marram
In 1974 a BBC sound archivist is sent to record ambient audio on six miles of Norfolk dune for a radio series that is later cancelled. She records for eleven nights. On the fourth she captures forty seconds that she does not report, does not delete, and spends the next thirty years failing to explain. The first Marram novel is largely about the forty seconds.
